Europe is investing heavily in carbon capture technologies. But what happens after the CO₂ is captured?
In this episode of Cementing Europe’s Future, we speak with Diego Novoa, General Manager Carbon Solutions & Sustainability at Votorantim Cimentos Europe & Asia, about one of the biggest challenges facing industrial decarbonisation today: CO₂ infrastructure.
From transport networks and storage capacity to electricity demand, funding gaps and regulatory certainty, the discussion explores why the challenge is no longer the technology itself, but whether Europe can create the conditions to deploy industrial carbon management at scale.
The episode also looks at the growing mismatch between climate ambition and infrastructure readiness, and what must happen next to turn decarbonisation plans into operational projects across Europe.
